Getting started

Basics and bonuses

Starting pay for company drivers is $0.62 per mile, and exceptions can be made for exceptional service. Pay increases are given based on performance.

New drivers are given credit for their experience and can be eligible for an experience bonus for an exemplary driving record and driving experience.

All drivers qualify for a safety bonus of up to $0.06/mile and a productivity bonus of up to $0.06/mile by driving:

A minimum average of 10,000 miles/month

Compensation by driver type

Over-the-Road (OTR)

More than half our drivers are OTR, serving customers in a 22-state region (see map). Drivers at this level typically have higher mileage and income goals.

About a third of our drivers are getting home weekly when their hometime location is within power lanes running in the midwest and southeast.

Owner Operator

Whether you own your own truck or want to purchase one through MWEX, we can make it work for you. Most of our owner operators drive OTR. If you’re interested in lease-to-own, we have many trucks to choose from.

Starting pay:

Rate per mile, starting $1.19 per mile plus fuel surcharge

Weekly
